Run by a Dietitian and a Social Worker, BASE delivers essential health education focused on preventing and managing eating disorders and mental health challenges among today’s teens, their families, and communities. We prioritise promoting Body Acceptance and Self-esteem as core components of our services.

Connected through our joint passion for mental health, a special friendship full of lots of laughs and banter was developed!

Amelia and Lily collaborate as facilitators of BASE, combining their expertise to empower young people, their families and communities to embrace their authentic selves.

Amelia, the Dietitian, specialises in all things nutrition and advocates for body acceptance, size diversity, and access to nutritional care for all bodies.

Lily, the Social Worker, is passionate about trauma-informed practice and shares tips on how to build on self-compassion and manage the compounding pressures of social media and beauty ideals.

Together, they create a supportive environment where participants can engage with these crucial topics with empathy and empowerment, promoting inner resilience and well-being within the community.

Our Services

  • What we do: We facilitate large group presentations on the four topics outlined below.

    Our School presentations are down-to-earth, fun and interactive. We safely discuss stigmatised topics to ensure students walk away with empowerment from their new learnings and mindset shifts on body acceptance and self-esteem.

    Group size: Designed for large year level cohorts of students (50-300 students).

    Duration: Average 1-2 hours duration.

  • What we do: During the workshops, we facilitate discussions as outlined below. These discussions are followed by interactive activities and/or role plays to demonstrate to students how they can quickly implement there learnings into real life situations.

    Group size: Designed for smaller class-sized groups of students (20-35 students)

    Duration: Average 50-60 minutes.
